Since its establishment in 1973, the HKICPA has been instrumental in shaping the accounting landscape in Hong Kong and beyond. Through the tireless efforts and immeasurable contributions of our members, we have continuously enhanced professional standards, advanced industry development, and contributed to Hong Kong's success as an international financial centre.
On behalf of the Institute, I would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all of our members, stakeholders, and partners for their unwavering support throughout the years. It is because of your dedication, expertise, and collaboration that we have been able to achieve such significant accomplishments and make a positive impact in the industry. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. We believe that by collaborating with our members and stakeholders, we can continue to drive progress and innovation in the industry.
One of our key priorities is to continue to cultivate quality professionals who are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their careers. We continue to provide a wide range of professional development programmes, resources, and networking opportunities to support our members throughout their career journey. We are also committed to ensuring that our members are equipped with the latest insights and knowledge to stay ahead. We will continue to attract the brightest talents to join the Qualification Programme and set up the next generation of Hong Kong CPAs for success.
The HKICPA is also committed to promoting sustainability and contributing to global efforts to address environmental and social challenges. Our members have a vital role to play and with crucial international standards set to be announced this year, the Institute will press forward with its plans to become the city’s standard setter for sustainability and climate disclosures, as well as focus on upskilling members and students with the necessary knowledge in these areas.
The Greater Bay Area is becoming a major hub for innovation, technology, and finance, and we believe that our members are well positioned to take advantage of these emerging opportunities. The Institute continues to strengthen ties with stakeholders in the region and will do its utmost to advocate on behalf of the profession with regards to capturing opportunities in the GBA.
